Recipe for Web 2.0 Graphics (Just add Likwid)
The term "Likwid" is used throughout our company. Many clients ask us what that really means and the reason for its inclusion in our design practices is fairly simple. Our work ethic is similar in composition to the properties of water. Any container that it is placed in will cause it conform to the exact shape and size. We function the same way; conforming to the client's needs and structure of their business.
Graphic design, by its very nature, is an ambiguous business. On one hand, it is extremely rewarding and fulfilling. On the opposite hand, it can be difficult due to the overwhelming flood of garbage and "cookie-cutter" mentality that other companies have. Being unique isn't something that can be taught in a classroom; it is learned by implementing new and exciting techniques in everything you do.
With the unavoidable growth of the Internet and new practices put in place by the people who maintain its functionality, we are forced to stay on the cutting edge of emerging technology. The responsibility behind this is immense and the learning curve is even greater.
Without the challenge, however, there would be no reward. We strive for that reward, which is making our clients as happy and excited as we are.
Web 2.0? Nah, we are shooting for Web 2.1, the new Likwid Standard.
What Makes a Picture Real?
The question itself is a bit of a conundrum. Pictures are not made to be real, they are a representation of a thought. Here is the catch. A thought is nothing more than a mental copy of what we see and experience. Therefore, the experience is defined as "real" and the picture is associated with this reality.
A simple image made of just basic shapes and colors can become the mental business card for any potential or existing customers. Take a look at the logo for Target. Without words, we are able to associate this image with an entire brand. This kind of "brain stamping" is not done by accident. True marketing specialists know exactly what to do in order to associate their products with one centralized image. We are not much different than these people. We know what the customers see and feel. We are the force behind it.
Likwid Graphics may only be a division of the LRD brand as a whole, but it is an integral part of the entire scheme of things. Without pictures, the world is nothing more than one person's perception of their surroundings through smell, touch and taste. The nature of Internet business marketing does not afford our clients these options, therefore we must rely on what they are able to use...
Vision.
So what makes a picture real? Likwid Reality does. And none do it better that us. None.
